If you need only subtitles I use this line --all-subs --skip-download
example from my post above:
youtube-dl --all-subs --skip-download https://www.france.tv/france-2/la-garconne/la-garconne-saison-1/1919051-episode-3.html
In this case you will get .vtt subtitles. You can convert .vtt to .srt with Subtitle Edit or similar app.
Downloaded french sub with youtube-dl from https://www.france.tv/france-2/la-garconne/la-garconne-saison-1/1919051-episode-3.html and translate to english with https://translate-subtitles.com/
La Garconne S01E03 720p with translated english subtitle (from french original subtitle)
