Premise:
Tyrant is the story of the son of a Middle Eastern ruler who returns home after a self-imposed 20-year exile to face the reality of the country he left behind.
Bassam "Barry" Al-Fayeed, the youngest son of a dictator in the fictional Middle Eastern country of Abbudin. After 20 years of self-imposed exile in the United States as a doctor,

Jamal, Leila’s husband, passed away in season 3. Bassam, his brother, took power as president. He appointed Leila as Foreign Minister.
Leila goes to the U.S. General William Cogswell at the request of the president. They already know each other and have a common past.
We will learn from their conversation that the general was Leila’s lover at the time when he worked for her husband.

During the second season, Bassam is left for dead in the desert. The family of a certain Ahmos recovers him.
Ahmos has a young wife. Daliyah Al-Yazbek (Melia Kreiling)
As soon as he sees her, Bassam has a crush on her. During his recovery, Bassam spends time with Daliyah’s son, which gives him the opportunity to interact with her. (At this stage of the story, their interactions comes down to staring games and smiles.)
Because of her young age compared to Ahmos, Bassam was convinced that Daliyah was his daughter.
He is quickly chilled when Ahoms tells him that it’s his wife.
Bassam is disappointed, but he does not give up. (He is helped by the fact that Daliyah is also attracted to him.)
One day, the village undergoes an attack by a terrorist group that takes control of the village. One of the leaders of the terrorist group kidnaps Daliyah so that she becomes his second wife! (Harem)
Ahmos will try to get his wife back by offering money to the leader, but he will refuse.
Back home, the leader of the terrorist group will force Daliyah to sleep with him. They will be disturbed by an explosion. It’s Bassam who comes to save her!
(He will still have time to ask her to undress for him and even finger her vagina.)
It is obvious that the series was inspired by the Syrian civil war of 2011.
In season three, Ahmos dies and Daliyah becomes a widow. Now, Bassam is the president and Daliyah has become his mistress.
