The Color Wheel (2011) is a charming comedy with slow build-up culminating in brother and sister making out on sofa.
🎬 Kanjô Saserareta Onna (1986)
🕒 Runtime: 59 Minutes
🎥 Genre: Psychological Drama | Dark Satire | Erotic
📖 Synopsis:
Takashi has always lived a sheltered life—brilliant grades, endless video games, and homemade lentil toast and hamburgers from his doting, overprotective mother. She finances his encounters with sex workers and quietly watches from the background, enabling his emotionally stunted lifestyle.
Then he meets Mayumi through a teleclub. She's distant, disinterested, and claims she's been bored since birth. Their rooftop meetings are quiet, directionless, and empty—yet something pulls them together. When Takashi suggests marriage, Mayumi agrees without hesitation. Soon, they all live under the same roof: Takashi, his mother, and Mayumi.
As boundaries blur and emotional identities overlap, Takashi begins to see his mother in Mayumi. The household grows heavy with unspoken tension and displaced affection. When Takashi is caught shoplifting—his first brush with real failure—his fragile world begins to collapse, spiraling toward self-destruction.
💬 A surreal and disquieting film about emotional numbness, toxic attachment, and existential despair.
