Story about a brother and his two sisters set modern day in New England.
Sister Eve was a songwriter performer in the 90s, quit performing after getting pregnant and married. Her marriage is bad, her husband is a drunk. A boyfriend of hers from back in the day is writing a book on 90s performers and wants to interview her. This eventually turns into an invitation to his cabin ‘to talk about her career’. Clearly he wants to isolate her from her husband so he can try to screw her.
Eve drives to the cabin with him, sex could happen. Her ex-boyfriend adeptly puts the moves on her a couple of times, but Eve decides she’s not a cheater and flees to her sister Maggie’s house.
Maggie is a successful writer, her husband is a writer, too but his career has dimmed. Maggie treats him pretty badly, feeling her oats that she’s in the power position in their marriage.
Maggie catches the eye of local handyman Dennis who has bedded many local wives. One afternoon she tells her husband she’s going for a walk asks him to join her. He says no. That’s all she needs to hear. Cut to her post coitus in Dennis’s house 1:29:50
Dennis remarks "this isn’t the first time you’ve done this is it, you seem very relaxed about the whole thing".
Maggie tries spinning the lie that maybe she has an open relationship with her husband. Dennis asks “Do you?” No answer from Maggie, that’s one too many lies for her to spin.
***SPOILERS***
In the end Andy loses his girlfriend because of his meddling ex-wife, Eve leaves her alcoholic husband, and Maggie’s husband wises up and leaves her cheating ass. Millers are 0 for 3 in marriage.
