Plot:
Worried about her offsprings's daycare difficulties and short of money, young mother Christa Klages robs a bank with the help of her lover Werner Wiedemann and a friend. When Werner is killed during the robbery and it becomes clear the police are looking for him, Christa decides to flee to Portugal.

Kindergarten teacher Christa Klages and her friends Werner and Wolfgang rob a bank. During the robbery, Christa takes the young bank employee Lena Seidlhofer hostage. Christa and Werner escape, but Wolfgang is arrested.
Although Werner suggests they break up, Christa stays by his side. Together, they visit Christa's best friend Ingrid, who lives with a German army officer. He is only home on weekends. Ingrid wants a offspring, but her husband wants to get a promotion first. That night, while the two women are in bed talking, Werner interrupts them to ask if he could sleep between them because he doesn’t want to sleep alone.
