Diorama is a 2022 Swedish drama film written and directed by Tuva Novotny. It stars Pia Tjelta and David Dencik. The film premiered in Sweden on May 6, 2022.
Story:
After years of dating, Frida and Bjorn have been married for ten years and have three children. As working parents, they both find their passionate lives overshadowed by their busy mornings and monotonous lives.
Frida realizes how stagnant their marriage has become and wants to spice things up by offering marriage counselling, a break, or even a threesome to Bjorn.
He dismisses all of them, advising her to stop complicating things because counselling isn’t the answer to everything. As a solution, they both decide to spend the night away from their problems rather than working on them. When they do take a break, it ends up being a disaster.
Their marriage crumbles as a result of their refusal to acknowledge and resolve the issues. The rest of the movie covers their divorce, intense disputes, child custody, resentment, and eventual separation.
Plot:
Diorama is the story of Frida and Björn. Through their everyday relationships, divorce and the consequences thereof, we follow the normative lives of normative people, but with a parallel story from the animal kingdom. A parallel story that, throughout the film, attempts to investigate and explore what really happens, biologically and chemically, when we love, hate, grieve and feel happiness.
And how most animals do not quite function in the ways that Christian society structured and institutionalized pair bonding many hundreds of years ago.
Have we forced ourselves into a way of cooperating that actually goes against our pre-programmed biology? And if not, why do 60% of marriages end in divorce worldwide?
In short, a very familiar love story, told in a not-so-familiar setting.

Cheating Notes:
Bjorn and Frida are a reasonably normal married couple. We first meet them when they are young and in the early stages of romance; they are carefree and in love. We then catch up with them as a married couple some years later. Spontaneous lovemaking has made way for a highly structured and regimented life, where both parties seem to be going through the motions.
As Frida herself at one stage describes, their life is simply “work, kids, kids, work”. Aware of how stale their marriage has become, Frida wants to do something to shake it up, suggesting a range of solutions to Bjorn that include marriage counseling, a break, or even a threesome. He dismisses all of them, preferring to sink into denial. Inevitably, their marriage fails and the rest of the film deals with how they navigate their divorce.
There are two sex scenes in the movie, one at the very beginning.
The film opens with Frida and Bjorn, very young, joining their friend for a party.
While chatting with their friends, one of them remarks that they've moved in together and that all they need now is to have children.
To which Bjorn replies that they practice a lot, all the time!

Frida gets fucked doggy-style against a table.

Then there is a ten-year time jump where Björn and Frida are married and have 3 kids.
Frida is unhappy, while Bjorn is adapting very well to married life (at least, he's not complaining).
Thinking he's doing the right thing, the husband lets his wife go out alone with her friends (their mutual friends, the ones from the beginning).
It was during her nights out that Frida met another man, Ben, an old acquaintance, who suggested they meet later for coffee.
It's during this period that Frida cheats on her husband. We don't know if it was with Ben or someone else.
(There's no sex scene, only Frida's confession and her husband's outburst when he finds out.)
There's another time jump; this time the couple is already divorced.
00:49:10 While Frida is talking with a friend, she hears a bang. Frida runs to the window to see what it was and sees a car crashing on a wall. Next to the car is her husband (Björn seems to have done this to get her attention and show her how bad he is; in any case, he's unharmed).
The husband started yelling at her and called her all sorts of names, telling her she was a whore and that she was sleeping around...etc.
Here is the full dialogue for those who are interested:

Unfortunately, that's all we get regarding her infidelity—no sex scene.
The second sex scene takes place after the divorce, and I think I understand why @marcopolo (the forum member credited for this film) thought the couple was still married.
(I watched this movie in English, so I understood everything, but I don't think that was the case for @marcopolo)

Once again, we learn of Frida's infidelity only through the dialogue.

Even though the scene is shot from a distance, it’s well done—no shitty music, just Frida moaning with pleasure.
Ben cums inside her—presumably without a condom—and Frida then walks him to the door. They share a passionate kiss and say goodbye.

I'm just going to say what I think of the series to those who are interested.
Unfortunately, I'm going to agree with what (@gives-you-wings) said

Not only is the sex scene more than disappointing (the two actors don't really kiss and the actress keeps her clothes on), if you say to yourself it doesn't matter, the actress's moans are enough to turn me on, Well no, we'll insert a song to cover that up too. (in 2026, you are entitled to nothing)
The 10 second scene that (@gives-you-wings) talks about is the only good thing in the 4 episodes and there is also a but, Because as you can imagine, if the actress didn't want to undress for the sex scene in episode 3. She's not going to show her bare-ass here,
I'm 100% sure it's a body double.
Harry receives a video message at the end of the episode of her having sex with Donnie, conveniently filmed by Frankie. What was he doing in the house? You can probably imagine.

@theboss3213 Someone should tell video editors to stop playing shitty music during sex scenes—I think they do it on purpose to tone down the intensity—because if you mute the sound, you'll see the scene is actually much raunchier.
