Comedy, sci-fi, two astronauts, Adam and Jane, have been trapped for 3 years in a spacecraft between Jupiter and Saturn. Both have spouses back on earth.

Their navigation and comms are disabled. After 3 years and no one coming to save them, Adam suggests they have sex, Jane declines, but Adam is persistent and slowly gets Jane to consider ‘doing everything but’ sex. Because they were both married, NASA packed no condoms on the ship, so Jane doesn’t want to have sex because she doesn’t want to have to deal with a space baby.

One day their navigation comes back to life, Jane says she can fly them back to earth in 3 weeks. 47:00 a combination of celebration they are saved, pent up horniness, and no worries about making a space baby, Jane jumps into Adam’s arms and starts kissing him passionately.

A Body That Works (Israel, 2023, TV series 8 episodes)

Ido and Elie are married, have been trying for a baby for years with no luck, miscarriages and failure. They hire Chen as a surrogate to have their baby.

It’s a difficult pregnancy, as medical problems arise, Ido convinces Elie that Chen needs to live with them. This is the beginning of the end of their marriage as Elie and Chen don’t get along, and Ido is increasingly attentive to Chen. No funny business with her, but prioritizes Chen over Elie.

Ido is a lawyer, Elie is a book editor given the job of helping a film director, Tomer, write his first novel.

Ep 4 47:40 Elie is feeling left out of her marriage after Ido takes Chen for a late night ice cream craving. Searches out Tomer, starts crying that "she’s always left out”. Tomer the dog is very interested. Elie kisses him once, then passionately. Ido’s trying to call her, she ignores the call.

Ep 5 the same night, Elie shows up to Chen’s appointment at the hospital with Tomer. Ieo asks where she’s been, Elie lies to him “Working”. 

Ep 6 26:40 At Tomer’s house, Elie starts getting undressed and kisses Tomer. She wakes up the next morning in his bed. The next day Tomer proposes because they’re both adults, they use each other, no feelings involved.

41:59 Elie meets with her husband, he asks her what’s going on, she tells him she’s with Tomer “the whole deal. I’ll do what’s good for me and you do what’s good for you”. Scene cuts to Tomer’s house, Elie looks comfortable living there as his woman.

Ep 7 Tomer’s an ass to Elie but dazzles her with galas and a luxurious life. Proposes Elie comes with him to London for a year to write a movie script, they can deal with any problems with the baby.

29:00 Elie shows up at Ido’s office with a lawyer over the custody of their yet to be born baby. Back and forth argument, Ido angrily tells her he will never let his son go to London for a year with Elie. She finally agrees to leave the baby with Ido.

Ep 8: Delivery is near, Chen asks Elie to come back to Israel from London, she needs her during the delivery. 43:00 Chen has the baby with Elie at her side.

Elie and Ido in the hospital. 50:00 Elie tells Ido she’s not going back to London. Ido says great their son needs a mom. Elie asks him if he’s happy, Ido says “Aside from being heartbroken that you left, yes, I’m happy. Elie “I want nothing more than to go home with the two of you.” Ido: What home Elie? There is no home.” Looks steadily at her. She looks heartbroken. As we see in the epilogue, 9 months later there has been no happy home for Elie.

Sorry, the only streaming I could find for this is on CBC Gem. Free in Canada with ads. Likely available on pay streaming services like Netflix or Apple. If someone finds it streaming somewhere else for free, please post it.

Slip (Canada, USA, TV series, 7 episodes, 2023)

Mae and Elijah are married, but Mae is bored with their marriage, and has lost attraction for Elijah who is a dork. Mae is at an art gallery opening, Husband Elijah calls it an early night. Mae goes out clubbing and meets Eric

22:35 They kiss on the dance floor, back to his place, they undress, she’s nude, he goes down on her, he makes her cum.

Wakes up the next morning in a parallel universe where she’s married to Eric.

The rest of the series is Mae living and coping (slipping) in parallel universes separate from her husband. Ep 7: Elijah won't listen to her time travel story, breaks up with her. Mae says "I love you" as he's walking away. They find each other again, tells Elijah about her old life with him how she loved it and mourns losing it. 26:20 this time she fucks Elijah at his place. In which universe does she wake up?

Listed as a comedy/fantasy, I didn’t find it very funny. It’s written and directed by the star of the series, Zoe Lister-Jones, her humour probably lands better with women. Watching her cope in different universes is entertaining though.

I watched this on CBC Gem, which is available free with ads in Canada. I couldn’t find it streaming on any other service for free. Perhaps posters can tell us other sites to stream it. Is a Roku original, maybe streams there.

Belgravia (UK, 2020, tv series, s1 with six episodes)

A soap opera set in Regency England beginning with the battle of Waterloo. Similar to  Downton Abbey, but set a century earlier. Very well made television.

Susan is the prettiest woman in the series. She's unhappily married to Oliver, a lazy, privileged son of prosperous merchant. John is the nephew of a very wealthy earl, and lives a spendthrift life waiting to inherit his uncle's estate. He's engaged unhappily to Maria. Susan decides to seduce John and his inheritence.

And so Susan is rejected and she leaves but takes some very important papers with her, guaranteeing John will lose his inheritance.

17:00 Susan goes on bended knee to her mother in law and they devise a plan for Susan and Oliver to raise the baby as Oliver's. This will likely work as Oliver hasn't been able to get Susan pregnant.

Series 2 fast forwards 20 years in the future and centres around the life of Frederick, the now very wealthy son of Susan and Oliver (and John). It can be viewed on yesmovies and cbc Gem.
