A former policeman-turned college professor of forensics is asked by a widow to solve the murder of her unfaithful husband and the disappearance of his mistress who may have been linked to some drug dealers.
Cheating Notes
At the beginning of the film, the married waitress (Kari Wuhrer) and her lover, a married professor, are having sex in the car in the woods when someone approaches them and shoots the professor. The waitress disappears after this and is believed to be kidnapped by the shooter.
The professor's widow (Valeria Golino) asks the former policeman-turned-college professor to help her clear her name because she's one of the suspects in the murder of her husband. In flashbacks, she tells him how she tailed her husband and saw him meet up with the waitress several times. We see a flashback scene where the waitress made out with the professor in his car when he dropped her off after one of their trysts (15:15). The widow also called the waitress' husband and told him that his wife was in the backseat of her husband's car, being fucked as they spoke (16:20).
The waitress' co-worker at the cafe she worked in before her disappearance tells the former policeman-turned-professor that the waitress' husband liked to watch her have sex with friends, that it's how he got off (18:35).
The widow shows the former policeman-turned-professor a revealing photo of her husband and the waitress (31:26). We then see a flashback scene of how that photo was created (32:23). The widow's husband and the waitress were doing a naked pictorial on a picnic cloth in the woods, kissing and petting in the process. This seems to be more like how the former policeman-turned-professor envisions it because he integrates himself into it like it's a fantasy.
The former policeman-turned-professor has sex with the widow (53:53).
We again see the scene when the waitress and the professor were having sex in the car before he was shot, but this time, it is a longer scene and it shows us what really happened (1:21:08).
