To spice things up in her boring Amsterdam life, Fem books a solo trip to India, but when she is about to take off she loses her nerve. On the way out from the airport she hooks up with a band of hippie backpackers. In the search for her own truth, she starts to stack one lie on top of another … until it is too late.
Instead of making the planned trip to India, the 27 year old Fem becomes a backpacker in her hometown; Amsterdam. Fem does not dare to tell her boyfriend the truth and she gets tangled up in a crazy lie.
Fem (Anna Raadsveld), a chaotic young woman, is offered a permanent job and proposed to by her childhood boyfriend Yorrick (Willem Voogd). Fem, who has not yet allowed herself to have such an adult life, books a ticket to India. But by the time she gets to the airport, she feels much less adventurous, so she dives into the backpacker scene of her own city, Amsterdam. How does she get out of this insane lie?
Cheating Notes
Fem's boyfriend proposes to her, flash-mob style (4:28). She says yes, probably due to social pressure, but she retracts it later, telling him she wants to be with him but doesn't want to get married.
Fem hops on a plane to India but changes her mind. When she exits the airport, Mike, a backpacker, thinks that she is a tourist who just landed at the airport. In the spur of the moment, Fem pretends that she is indeed a tourist and that she is Swedish. She joins Mike's group of backpackers.
In the following days, Fem hangs out with the backpackers and starts getting attracted to Mike.
Fem nearly kisses Mike but returns to her senses and runs away before their lips touch (38:12).
Fem starts making love with Mike (43:19). She is already naked down to her panties and they are petting heavily on the bed when someone knocks on the door and interrupts them. They try to continue their lovemaking when the visitor leaves but Fem cannot do so anymore, because she gets bothered when she finds out that the visitor is Mike's girlfriend.
