Thomas and Marianne, a feuding couple whose relationship has hit a wall, decide to spend a weekend at Thomas' uncle's lakeside cottage. This is their last chance to save their relationship, which has been jeopardized by Marianne's meaningless flirtations and Thomas' uncontrollable jealousy. As they arrive, a restless yet charming neighbor welcomes them into their house and, realizing that Thomas' uncle and girlfriend will not be showing up for days, suggests they share the dinner he has prepared. The drunken night that follows - with this man, who might not be who he seems to be, pushing his charms on Marianne - leads to a weekend of blurred emotions and events, where loyalties, guilt and a shared secret will test the young couple's ability to survive.
Cheating Notes
Thomas and his girlfriend Marianne go to Thomas' uncle's lakeside cottage to save their relationship. His uncle is not there and they are welcomed by Ben, the neighbor. The three have dinner, and then the scene abruptly jumps to the morning after: Thomas wakes up on the couch, while Marianne wakes up on the bed in the loft, naked under the sheet, with her panties hanging from the ceiling. It makes you wonder if something happened between Marianne and Ben last night.
Throughout the movie, we see flashbacks of what happened last night after dinner. Marianne was drunk and wearing a dress, Ben was assisting her from falling, with his hands all over her body, while Thomas just watched them laugh and have fun from a distance (22:09, 35:20, 39:12, 44:36).
Thomas gets his car in a ditch and it won't start, then he encounters an old friend which takes him to a campfire party. Meanwhile, Ben goes to the cottage and invites Marianne for a walk. Ben kisses Marianne in the woods. She lets their lips touch briefly before pulling away (39:50).
Night comes and Thomas isn't home yet. Marianne drinks with Ben in front of a bonfire in the cottage's front yard. He is touchy with her but she's not so receptive (48:53).
Thomas gets home in the morning and finds Marianne and Ben sleeping beside each other on the bed (50:00). She is sleeping on top of Ben's extended arm, but they are both clothed and their position doesn't indicate that they had sex last night. Marianne and Thomas fight after she wakes up.

Thomas and Marianne now suspects that Ben might not be who he says he is. Marianne walk with Ben in the woods and have a make-out and petting session with him, in order to deceive him so that she can tie him to a tree (1:04:15).
While tied up to the tree, Ben tells the couple that he screwed a drunk and unconscious Marianne on the first night the three of them had a drink (1:10:35). In the flashback, we see a part where Marianne woke up while Ben was screwing her from behind (it's a non-nude scene).

In the final scene, a flashback tells us that Ben may not really have screwed Marianne during their night of drinking. In fact, he was a gentleman to her and just remove her panties and clothes for her comfort.
