Set in the 1930s, the story recounts the growing pains of Jan, whose mother dies while giving birth to him and who’s intensely hated by his sadistic and debauched father. Jan grows up with his stepmother, and he struggles to reconcile his guilt and longing with different women in his life.
Cheating Notes
Jan's mother dies while giving birth to him so his father hates it for it, for life. But that's not the only reason he hates him. His father becomes the master of the house (by taking the power away from Jan's grandfather's sister) and practically makes every female servant there a part of his harem. Jan's mother's cousin, Aunt Wad, who stayed in the house to take care of him, becomes his father's main mistress (they even have a daughter together).
Eventually, Jan's father takes in another mistress, the rich Madam Boonlueng, his former lover who has recently been widowed. Madam Boonleung replaces Aunt Wad as the main mistress of the house.
Jan brings tea to Madam Boonleung's room (1:42:44), to take back his sketchbook that contains his nude sketches which she took away from him earlier in his quarters. Madam Boonleung asks him to rub ice on his back. He begins kissing her bare back, carried away by his emotions and his memories of witnessing Aunt Wad making love to his father. When Madam Boonleung tells him to behave, he cries and tells her to punish him. When she hugs him to comfort him, her robe opens up in the middle, exposing her breasts to him. He begins kissing her breasts. She then kisses him on the mouth but he runs out of the room.
