The actress Mai Kitajima married former Hikari Genji idol pop star Mikio Osawa in 1996 (a high profile entertainment industry marriage in japan).

Mai Kitajima gave birth to her first son in January 1997.

They got divorced in 2005.

Since then she has remarried and had another child with a new man( She got remarried the same year the movie got released 2007).

She was going through a trial surrounding the paternity of the son she had with her ex husband Mikio Osawa.

It seems Mai Kitajima was an active lady and had an affair with someone else (an actor), and their son was raised as Osawa’s but in fact DNA testing on 2013 categorically proved he is not related. The boy was 16.
