Plot - Ángel de Fuego is a 1992 Mexican drama directed by Dana Rotberg in which 13-year-old Alma, a fire-breathing trapeze artist in a miserable traveling circus, is in a sexual incestuous relationship with her dying father Renato — a broken, decaying clown consumed by the memory of the wife who abandoned them both. When Alma becomes pregnant by her father and he dies, she is shunned and thrown out of the circus, left to wander the streets alone and carrying his child. She falls in with Refugio, a fanatical religious woman who leads a puppet troupe performing biblical stories in Mexico City's slums — but even there Alma finds no salvation, only more manipulation and cruelty, until she finally snaps and burns everything to the ground in one last act of desperate fury.

Note - Evangelina Sosa and Roberto Sosa, who are real-life brother and sister, were cast together in this film. In one scene, Evangelina's character appears nude while her real-life brother Roberto is also on screen, and their characters share a deeply unsettling sexual dynamic.
