
Set in the Philippines during the 1940's, Celestina is a story about a woman, a burlesk dancer, who struggles to provide for her family while her husband is a gambling and womanizing drunkard. Despite the hardships, Celestina perseveres and finds strength in her love for her son.
Cheating Notes

Celestina isn't pleased with her husband, Cornelio, who just sold a piece of his property due to his gambling addiction. She. along with her son, secretly follows him one day and catches him having a tryst with his mistress, Marcela, who is also his cousin (10:46).
Celestina runs away from Cornelio, taking her son with her, and becomes a burlesk dancer in a theatre.
Marcela gets married to Masaru, a Japanese officer. While Cornelio talks to the newlywed, flashback of his lovemaking with Marcela is shown (41:54).
Celestina falls for Leandro, an admirer. She has sex with him (45:26, 54:40).
Celestina takes her bra off during her performance (1:19:56). It's the first time she does it so the crowd is elated. Cornelio, her estranged husband, is in the audience and instead of being mad, seems to be even proud when he points out to his companion, Masaru, that she is his wife.
Celestina has sex with Leandro after the show (1:22:39). When they part ways, Cornelio confronts her and asks her to come back to him. When she says she doesn't want to, he threatens to have her arrested for adultery.
Cornelio is able to take back his and Celestina's son. When Celestina begs him to return their son to her, he tells he will on the condition that she will do a strip show for his Japanese friends. She does it, albeit reluctantly (1:44:38).
