Family father Niklas Vandenberg's arrest as a business fraud suspect upsets the whole household's lives. Wife Laura suddenly has to return to professional life, without a credible CV, so she tries cab driving like her sassy sister Ziggy, but she loses her license after bursting into a cop car drunk. She turns dishwasher at the Italian restaurant La Grotta, and after the abused chef falls out, she steps in as cook. Preparing Niklas's trial, his attorney asks about a Milan trip with shared hotel rooms, which clarifies he had an affair with his secretary Tanja Welz, who turned him in spitefully when he refused to divorce. Niklas gets off with time served, but now has to move out, only son Moritz still dotes on him and daughter Nina bitterly blames her mother, who never told them everything but whom they caught in bed with hot restaurant barman and waiter Robert.
