Plot - The film is a satirical look at a middle-aged marriage in crisis, set against the backdrop of 1980s Argentina. While Pepe (Federico Luppi) is the catalyst—convinced that the "Year of the Rabbit" entitles him to a sexual awakening and a break from his monotonous domestic life—the film actually portrays a symmetrical breakdown of the marriage. As Pepe chases his "second youth" with younger women like Karina (Katja Alemann), his wife Norma (Luisina Brando) does not simply wait at home. Reacting to his neglect and the crumbling of their partnership, she engages in her own sexual and emotional rebellion. The film shifts from being a simple comedy about a philandering husband to a more cynical look at how two people in a long-term commitment can become strangers who both seek validation in the arms of others.
