In the late 90s, Yura Samoylov and his wife Anna return to Moscow after a five-year business trip abroad. After a long separation, Anna happily meets with her friends: the wife of a diplomat Vera Kraft, and former fellow students Olga and Irina, whose lives are not going so smoothly. They dumbfoundedly look at the happy Samoylov family and their unearthly love, but, as it often happens, life suddenly makes a 180 degree turn - Yura gets a severe head injury and after a long treatment becomes in fact a demented offspring. An absurd accident turns into hell: Anna is left alone with two offsprings, without money, without work, with her disabled husband in her arms. Which friend will come to her aid at such a moment, forgetting about her problems? How will Anna's life develop further, will she be able to cure Yura and regain love? You will learn everything from this complicated story about female friendship, trials, strength, love and betrayal.
Cheating Notes
Vera tells her friend Anna about her problems with her husband (05:24). Anna advices her to go to a shrink. Vera accepts her advice and has her first session with Dr. Konstantin Kolesov (08:48).
Yura, Anna's husband, falls and hits his head after trying to save Anna from falling herself (21:25). He becomes mentally retarded and useless, and has to be taken cared of always.
Igor, Yura's best friend, gives Anna a job at the medical center he owns.
Anna meets Dmitriy, a cop, when he goes to her clinic at the medical center to ask questions regarding a case (47:20).
Igor wines and dines Anna, holds her hand, and professes how he feels about her (50:50). She says she has to go and leaves.
Anna has a drink with Igor at his place. When he makes his move and kisses her, she kisses back briefly before pulling away and leaving (1:03:33).
Igor kisses Anna on the cheek as they leave work (1:06:43). She declines his offer of a lift, opting to walk instead. Their interaction is interrupted by Dmitriy. Once Igor leaves, Dmitriy asks Anna out for the evening. She jokingly asks, 'Is this a date?' While he avoids a direct answer, she agrees to go. This suggests that Anna’s lack of an affair—specifically with Igor—isn't due to an unwavering loyalty to her husband, Yura, who remains in a cognitively impaired state. Rather, she simply hadn't met anyone she was attracted to until Dmitriy, whom she is now willing to give a chance.
Anna asks her friend, Irina, to watch Yura while she goes on a date with Dmitriy. They just buy food and drinks and do their date at his place. Anna tells Dmitriy about the condition of her husband. He consoles her and they kiss, but are interrupted by a phone call (1:21:31).
Anna has sex with Dmitriy, but we only see some kissing after sex (1:26:04, 1:27:20).
Vera starts an affair with her shrink, Dr. Konstantin Kolesov. They make out passionately and have implied sex (1:58:12).
