A blue collar worker tries to cover things up when his stepson is killed in a suspicious accident, but a local newspaper writer senses that something's amiss.
When Mickey's crazy step-son Leon is killed in a construction 'accident', nobody in the working class neighborhood of God's Pocket is sorry he's gone. Mickey tries to bury the bad news with the body, but when the boy's mother demands the truth, Mickey finds himself stuck in a life-and-death struggle between a body he can't bury, a wife he can't please and a debt he can't pay.
Cheating Notes
The wife bangs the local newspaper writer who interviews her regarding the death of her son, which she believes is not accidental. Their first meeting, where their intimacy starts thanks to his touchy ways of comforting her, is at 44:04. They bang on their second meeting when the writer picks the wife at her home and brings her to a hill with a good view. They have sex on a picnic cloth but she doesn't take her dress off (1:06:10).
