Woodwork artist Takumi moves to the small village Asuka in Nara Prefecture. He remodels old homes and lives a peaceful existence with nature. Takumi then meets Kayoko, a woman who went to the same school as Takumi. Kayoko is fascinated with the color crimson. She dyes scarves with the color of hanezu. Kayoko lives with boyfriend Tetsuya, who works as an editor of a PR magazine. They live together. Soon, Kayoko falls in love with Takumi.

Cheating Notes

Woodwork artist Takumi moves to the small village of Asuka and has an affair with Kayoko, a woman who went to the same school as him and who is living with her boyfriend.

Kayoko sucks Takumi's bleeding finger sensually, and then they kiss (23:06).

We see Takumi's boobs while she's taking a shower (46:16).

Takumi hugs Kayoko from behind (1:06:50). Here, we find out that he is expecting a baby, meaning they already had sex. She denies it.

We see Takumi naked again after her boyfriend takes off her clothes which are drenched from the rain (1:11:13). He makes love to her, but she's not into it. A few scenes later, she finds him dead in the bathtub, seemingly committing suicide.
