A doctor takes in the depressed wife of a rich man as a patient and eventually begins an affair with her. One night, the husband suffers a heart attack while the couple is having an argument. The doctor tends to him and injects him with a certain kind of drug. The next day, the husband dies. Did the doctor murder him or is he innocent? When the doctor takes in another mistress, the jealous widow accuses him of murdering her husband and takes him to court.
