After a bad breakup with his girlfriend leaves him heartbroken, Carter Webb moves to Michigan to take care of his ailing grandmother. Once there, he gets mixed up in the lives of the mother (Meg Ryan) and daughter (Kristin Stewart) who live across the street.
Carter makes out with the mother in the pouring rain (56:17). She knows that her husband is cheating on her and she just found out that she has cancer.
Carter also makes out with the daughter (1:08:22).
