Second Story: Ryan contrives to manipulate his new girlfriend into a replica of his dead mother, in order to jolt his daddy out of his 18-month-old bout with depression.

Cheating Notes
The second story is better as it has drama. Max's girlfriend finally agreeing to be a gift to his dad is convincing enough after she has an emotional talk with the latter.
