Plot:
Two incidents in a single night keep the women of the KK15 unit on high alert: In Ellen’s neighborhood, a man wipes out his family and then shoots himself—out of jealousy, as later emerges. In the red-light district, a pub owner is blown up along with his establishment; his friend and partner, Tomas Rautenberg, narrowly escapes the attack. He is convinced that the perpetrator could only be Robert Seelig, a notorious local underworld figure and drug dealer. Rautenberg, who is himself entangled in cocaine dealings with Seelig, agrees to cooperate with the police as a key witness. The family tragedy has shaken Ellen far more deeply than she is willing to admit, prompting her boss, Jensen, to remove her from the case. However, when he assigns her to protect the key witness instead, disaster strikes. Ellen recognizes the man as a former classmate. Alone with Rautenberg, and still reeling from her recent trauma, the detective loses her professional detachment; seeking solace, she begins an affair with him. But her lapse in judgment has fatal consequences: she shoots a colleague, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, underworld boss Robert Seelig has escaped from pre-trial detention and sends his right-hand man, Karsten Dubois, to target the key witness. When Jensen confronts her, Ellen hides the truth out of shame. She is consumed by guilt, a burden that grows even heavier when the wounded colleague dies. Jensen suspends her from duty. Her colleague Sabrina finds the whole story suspicious; she investigates and uncovers Ellen’s secret. When the dead officer turns out to be one of Robert Seelig’s henchmen, Ellen appears to be vindicated—but Sabrina knows the full truth and confronts her, furious and disappointed. When Jensen—unaware of the situation—returns the blonde detective to active duty and once again entrusts her with protecting Rautenberg, both women try in vain to prevent it. Ellen is determined not to make another mistake. Meanwhile, Sabrina uncovers evidence suggesting that Rautenberg killed his friend; the man who was Ellen’s one-night stand is now the prime suspect in the mu..er. This time, Ellen keeps a cool head and does the only right thing: she arrests Rautenberg.
