A reclusive man gets a visitor who turns out to be the daughter of a woman from his past. The woman was the wife of the man he worked for and after trying to seduce her she gave in quickly and they had an affair. The film is mostly flashbacks of the affair, the memories being triggered by the visits of the daughter who resembles her mother.
Miller lives alone in an abandoned Alabama slaughterhouse. His memory and sanity are shattered and his only company is the spirit of his lover, who was murdered a decade ago. Ruth arrives, desperate to discover the truth about her mother's death. She stays with Miller for three nights. Together they piece together the fragments of his memory, but they are horrified at what they uncover.
Cheating Notes
The middle-aged man's young wife cheated on him with a drifter he hired to work on his farm. Her cheating scenes are told in flashbacks. Initially, she's not welcoming to the guy, telling him to not meddle with her marriage, etc. But gradually she warmed up to him and came with him to the fair when her husband went somewhere.
At 43:30, she came with him to his place, an abandoned slaughterhouse. They danced and kissed.
At 46:56, they had sex, with her on top. We see her naked upper back and side boob.
