In Season 1 of the series "Mutual Consent," a young Russian language and literature teacher , Anna Fedorova, goes to a yacht party with old friends. As the morning comes, Anna jumps into the sea, while the others are still sleeping. In a wet dress, barefoot, with bruises and abrasions all over her body, the woman goes to the police station and makes a rape allegation. She accuses her friends, influential people in the city, of the crime. The case causes enormous resonance, and the investigation sheds light on events from the past of all those involved in the case. It is not so much the alleged rapists who find themselves under the fire of public condemnation, but Anna herself.
In Season 2 of the series "Mutual Consent," the story continues about how long-term abusive relationships and domestic violence can take lives — not only metaphorically, but quite literally. Both the individuals in such relationships and those around them are affected. The story begins with the murder of Grigory Venishev, a father of many children and a successful businessman. His wife Marina becomes the prime suspect, with all the evidence pointing to her. During the investigation, it becomes clear that the image of a happy marriage was a myth, and behind closed doors, Marina was a victim of domestic abuse. The late Venishev was a tyrant who ruled his household through fear.

Note: There are two seasons, and each season relates a different story. There is basically no cheating in Season 1, while there is in Season 2, and they are all presented as flashbacks.
