Plot - On the surface, Shu-yi maintains a flawless, enviable lifestyle as the matriarch of a bourgeois Taiwanese household, quietly enduring the cold, abusive, and homophobic tyranny of her careerist surgeon husband, Feng. Their domestic tension spikes as their eldest son, Han, violently rebels against his father’s relentless pressure to study medicine.
