Los Angeles advertisement director Max visits his friend, artist Charlie, who was diagnosed with A.I.D.S. in New York. There he meets Karen, they are attracted to each other and after they meet later that day at the concert, they have a passionate night. Then he returns home to L.A. to his family and wife Mimi. A year later Max returns to New York again to visit Charlie who is now dying, and there he meets Karen again, who is married to Charlie's brother Vernon.
Cheating Notes
Max (Wesley Snipes) and Karen's (Nastassja Kinski) one-night stand happens at 28:33. It's a dark scene with only a few frames of one-tit nudity.
When he comes home, Mimi, Max's Asian wife, makes love to him. The sex scene is non-nude, but there's a shot after where we see Mimi's boobs while she's lying asleep beside Max. Mimi is noisy and a freak in bed and Max can't match her sexual energy. Boy, with her kind of sexual libido, I was hoping at this point that she should be the wife who's cheating instead of Karen.
One year later, Max and Karen meet again unexpectedly, and it's at the hospital where Max's friend Charlie is dying from AIDS. Apparently, Karen is the wife of Vernon, Charlie's brother. Max brings and introduces Mimi to them. The two couples have a double dinner date, with Max and Karen throwing secret glances at each other.
At 1:18:27, Max and Karen make out while keeping watch over the sleeping Charlie in his hospital room. Charlie wakes up and sees them kissing, and asks Max why he was kissing his sister-in-law after Karen leaves the room.

Charlie dies and Vernon holds a party for him. During the party, Max and Karen dance close and then they kiss in the kitchen. They then left the main house where the party is being held and go to a nearby abandoned house and start having sex in a standing position inside it. After a while, they realize that someone else is in the house, two in fact. They turn around and see their spouses, Vernon and Mimi having sex as well! Or were having sex but paused to try not to be noticed by them.
Apparently, if you paid attention to Vernon and Mimi at the party in the background, they also danced close together a few times, with Mimi hugging Vernon sometimes to console him, etc. While Max and Karen were trying to resist temptation to come at each other and failing, their spouses were actually getting closer to each other, leading to the inevitable climax involving all four of them.
