A drug addict becomes a mother and has to deal with responsibility and self-respect.
As the film opens, a doped-up Lea (Maria Bonnevie) makes an extremely bad impression on her baby daughter's foster parents; later, flashbacks reveal her disturbing youth and young adulthood. From the wrong side of the tracks, Lea grows up in a small house on the edge of the forest. When her father dies, her fragile mother Madelene takes up with the jealous alcoholic Ole. Unable to prevent Madelene from being beaten, Lea winds up as a substance abuser.
Cheating Notes
At 1:00:00, Lea's boyfriend Henrik drives her to the red light district so that she can pick up clients as a prostitute. She gets into the cars of at least two clients to suck them. We see the penis of the second client as he gets it out and then Lea's head bobbing up and down onto it.
At 1:08:12, we see the first time Lea told Henrik about her plan of prostituting herself. He was mad, of course. Next to that, we see Lea getting fucked by a young guy. I'm not sure if this guy was a client or her lover. It might even be her ex-boyfriend from when she was still a teenager, the one at 31:23.
