Pretty (Kristin Booth) is a prostitute and her boyfriend Johnny (Aaron Poole) is her pimp. Carol (Caroline Cave) and Harry (Noam Jenkins) seems to be a content couple. Peter (Stuart Hughes) is a cop working on a missing person case. In a Toronto apartment, Carol sneaks a cigarette on the balcony. She falls off. She lands near Pretty and Johnny, and they run off. Peter arrives to hold her hand. Did she fall or was it deliberate? Three months later, Carol comes home from the hospital. She reconnects with Peter who is leaving the police force for stress. Harry tries to help Pretty who has become strung out on drugs. Johnny is trying to get her to stop but gets caught up in a murder and is suffering health problems.

Carol, the wife of Harry, falls off the balcony of her apartment. She survives, and a few months later, she meets up with the cop who first responded to her fall and held her hand.

Carol and Harry's relationship gets worse and they can't even have sex. Because of this, Harry gets drawn to Pretty, who usually hangs out in the street below his apartment building. Initially, he pays her just for her company and refuses her sexual offers, like when she tries to give her a blowjob in his car after he took her to dinner.
At 1:00:33, Carol and Harry start having sex on the balcony of their apartment. It is after a heated argument that involves him pushing her on the edge of their balcony while asking her what she did the night that she fell. He pushes her against the sliding glass door and starts making love to her from behind. It is pretty hot, however, it doesn't finish properly because Carol breaks it off.
In the morning, Carol goes to the cop's place to fuck him. She starts kissing him in the hallway, but he rejects her because his daughter (who happens to be Pretty) is inside his apartment.
At 1:13:05, Harry finally agrees to have sex with Pretty. She gives him a blowjob and then he starts fucking her from behind, but she stops him, saying he's all over the place, and ultimately the scene leads to a character's death.
Summary
Ironically, the hottest sex scene here is the wife's sex scene with her husband on the balcony and not the one with her lover. That's because there are heightened emotions involved in the scene.
