Evil never looked so good.

A cul-de-sac in an oppressive suburb becomes a literal dead end for wife and mother Karen Christianson when she is brutally murdered in her own home. In the wake of the event, Karen's teenage daughter Ellie begins to exhibit bizarre behaviors as she slowly acquires her mother's demeanor and mannerisms. Meanwhile, Karen's husband Ben nurtures a less-than-innocent interest in the family's sultry live-in nanny, Lena.

Catalina (Ana Claudia Talancón) is a 16-year-old girl who has an affair with General Andrés Ascencio (Daniel Giménez Cacho), an older military man involved in politics. Due to a family arrangement, she is married to him, and over time she will discover the wicked person with whom she sleeps every night.

(Small clarification: The movie takes place from 1930 to 1944. So, Catalina is 30 years old at the moment she starts her extramarital relationship with Carlos.)

Catalina evolves from mistress to married woman to finally become an unfaithful woman. The circle is complete.
Spoiler
Catalina cheats on General Andrés with Carlos, the musical director several times. When Andrés learns this, he decides to have him assassinated. to avenge the death of her lover, Catalina poisons the general.
