Cheating Notes

While working as a lighting assistant, Gerardo is immediately smitten with Ines when he first sees her during her beauty pageant interview (10:02). Ines and Justo—who is still her boyfriend at the time—manage to convince Gerardo to join their opposition group.

Ines and Justo have married and now have a offspring. One night at dinner, Justo tries to assert dominance over Gerardo in front of Ines, treating him like a dog (22:27). When Gerardo can finally take no more—especially after Justo kicks him in the shoulder and smacks him on the head—he reaches out and seizes him by the throat, reversing the power dynamic and making Justo the beta. As Justo retreats from the table, Ines looks and smiles at Gerardo, in a certain way that indicates she is attracted to him for dominating her husband (23:29). She is already aware of Gerardo’s feelings for her and warns him not to look at her that way, because she says ladies like her do not get divorced.

During a TV interview, Ines is impressed by Gerardo's statement and gives him a look reflecting her admiration (32:14). After the interview, Justo castigates her for saying something he disapproves of. Ines calls him a 'pussy' in response—and we all know that a husband is in trouble when his wife begins calling him pussy while another guy she's attracted to is hanging around.

Through enough, trouble starts for Justo when, after the interview, Gerardo comes home and finds Ines waiting for him on the stairs outside his apartment (34:20). She tells him his statement during the interview made her cry. She starts kissing him, removing her panties in the process. He hesitates initially because after all, she is Justo's wife, but eventually gives in. She rides him on the stairs. Non-nude.

After an accident where her husband nearly dies from burning during an operation, Gerardo and Ines have sex in a hotel (46:50, 47:30). The scene is nude and quite nice.

Gerardo and Ines hold hands as they walk out from the hotel (48:07). She hops into her husband's car while he hides in a corner. She kisses Justo, acting like she did not just have sex with their comrade in a hotel room.

Gerardo volunteers to disappear and fake his death for the group's cause during the group's meeting. In the party after, Ines whispers something to Gerardo's ear. If I have to guess, she seems to be asking him to go somewhere private so they can make out or even have sex (57:20). But as she is about to pull him away while walking backwards, her drunk husband comes up behind her and presses his body against hers, wedging her tightly between himself and Gerardo.

Gerardo fakes a plane crash in the mountains to go into hiding, following through with the plan to stage his own death. Ines and Justo eventually visit him there. While they are relaxing beside a lake, Justo begins playfully treating Gerardo like a dog again (1:15:30); however, Gerardo warns him not to lay a hand on him this time, and Justo backs down. After Justo leaves, Ines tells Gerardo that her husband is intentionally giving them time alone, implying he is aware of their affair. She reveals that Justo asked her to tell Gerardo that she no longer loves him. 'Tell me then,' Gerardo challenges, to which she replies, 'I love you.'

Decades later, the three are now old and Ines and Justo are still together. Gerardo arrives at the couple's home seeking revenge. Ines wakes and speaks with him in the living room while her husband sleeps in the bedroom. Amidst their intense, confrontational dialogue, they kiss twice; the second kiss occurs against the wall, with her feet off the floor and legs entwined around his hips (1:30:33).
