Buttercup Bill is the psycho-sexual romance of Patrick and Pernilla- mutually obsessed soul mates clinging to childhood secrets. Closer to twins separated at birth than friends or lovers, they express love through sexual games of jealousy and subversion and seek escape from a reality they believe has no place for them.

Patrick and Pernilla's relationship is complicated in the psychological sense. I guess the term 'psycho-sexual romance' in the description describes it perfectly.
During a campfire party, Pernilla makes out with Patrick's friend in front of him. Patrick also has a chick with him and they kiss too. Pernilla comes home in the morning, implying that she stayed with and possibly had sex with Patrick's friend during the night. Patrick, meanwhile, took the chick home and made her stay overnight. I guess they had sex too.
Earlier, the couple had a threesome, sorta, with a dancer at a titty bar. They also have sex with each other in the end part of the movie.
With several sex scenes and nudity, but unfortunately, none in Pernilla's tryst with Patrick's friend.
