An unscrupulous doctor is accused of killing his asthmatic wife as part of an insurance scam, despite discovering that she has a doppelgänger who works as a high-class stripper.
The wife of a doctor (Jean Sorel) is murdered. He had a mistress a long ago, since his wife (Marisa Mell) always begged herself out of engagements because she is a asthmatic. On the other hand, she enjoyed a part time job as a stripper. Did the doctor kill her?
Dr. George Dumurrier is looking for money to expand the San Francisco-based clinic he runs with his brother. He is also having an affair with Jane, a glamorous fashion photographer. When Dumurrier's wife Susan dies following an asthma attack, leaving him a million-dollar insurance pay-out, it seems that all his problems are solved - until an anonymous phone call sends him to the Roaring 20s strip club where he is astonished to discover that its featured performer, the dangerously desirable Monica Weston, looks exactly like his dead wife. As he tries to unravel this mystery, George learns that the police are now investigating his wife's death and that he is under suspicion of murder.
Cheating Notes
Just enjoy and watch this nice Giallo. Basically, the husband finds out after his wife's death that she has a lover.. but there will be plot twists, of course, it being a Giallo. As for sex scenes, we see the husband and his mistress have sex, and also the husband and his wife too (although they may not be considered husband and wife at that time), but there are no sex scenes between the wife and her lover, or lovers.
