Rokuheita Narumi is fascinated by oriental art and works as the director of the Saho Art Museum in Nara. His wife, Noriko, is unable to leave Tokyo, despite his wishes, and the two live separately. Feeling lonely and neglected by her husband, she immerses herself in the depraved life of the city and continues to have a loveless relationship with a doctor, Katsumori. One day, Narumi arrives in Tokyo and learns of Noriko's affair, but he cannot divorce her for the sake of their child, so he devotes himself to his work.
Cheating Notes
The husband sees his wife about to enter a hotel room with her lover, a doctor marketing himself as a sex counselor (03:15). As a result of this, the husband acquires a young mistress of his own. The wife also acquires a rich, old man for a second lover later. When the wife finds out about her husband's young mistress, she is remorseful and begs for her husband to come back to her. Competition is a bitch.
We see the wife make love to her husband (he initially forces himself on her after they talk about her lover) (08:50). We also see the husband make love several times to his mistress (51:27, 1:05:58, and 1:41:59). But as for the wife, we only see her kiss her second lover (56:52).
A captivating drama that should be watched with subtitles.
