Plot - Loosely inspired by Italy's notorious Casati Stampa true-crime affair and directed by Andrea De Sica, this dark, psychological erotic thriller follows Elena and a wealthy marquis named Lelio. After abandoning their respective marriages to be together, the couple retreats to a luxurious estate on a secluded island, where their intense passion spirals into an obsession with voyeuristic sex games, recording their encounters with various high-society guests. However, the erotic thrill rapidly dissolves into a toxic cage of extreme manipulation, severe depression, and paranoia as Lelio becomes pathologically controlling—until Elena falls in love with another man and realizes the only path to true survival is to permanently eliminate her husband.
