The driver of the rich couple is told by the maid while he's fucking her (45:52) that the wife is interested in him as she saw her check him out from time to time. This emboldens the driver to hit on the wife when he is driving her one day. Interested or not, the wife is being careful and immediately shuts him down.
Later that night, a psychiatrist who is the husband's friend and colleague and whom he tries to assign to the wife to deal with her 'mental' problems tells her that he loves her and kisses her in her car (55:05). She kisses him back.
The driver observes the wife's make-out session with the psychiatrist through the car's rearview mirror. After dropping the psychiatrist off, he drives the wife home, parks the car and then silently goes into the house and inside the wife's bedroom. He forces himself on her initially, but she gives in and has sex with him (58:56).

A few scenes later, the husband catches his wife in bed with the driver in the latter's room.
