The head of the family, Franco is rich and Marxist; his wife is the sister of a venal priest; their son, Sandro is newly married but wastes no time in starting a sexual affair with his wife's younger sister. They all sail in a false morality and, in the end, even the two "cleaner" ones (Franco and his son's wife) end up sleeping together.

Cheating Notes
The father-in-law bangs his daughter-in-law when they seek shelter from the rain in a cabin after doing some hunting (1:26:20). The tension between them, as they stare at each other's eyes just before they kiss, is intense.
