The film tells the story of Cristório, a fisherman from the Northeastern Brazilian State of Maranhão, who lost his young son when he was killed by a jealous husband during a folklore festival that celebrates the return of a resurrected bull called Bumba-meu-boi. It is a journey to the heart of deepest Brazil, where it finds the dramatic soul of the Brazilian people.
Cheating Notes

At the beginning of the movie, the wife is seen dancing with Cristório's son during a festival while her husband observes from a distance. The two get away from the crowd and go to a spot on the beach while the husband silently follows them. The wife and the young guy start making love beside a fishing boat. The husband silently approaches them and stabs the young guy on the back, killing him. This scene is shown again at 1:27:30.
The cheating scene is quite lousy: too short and too dark. Cristorio's different sex scenes with around four hot women during the rest of the movie are much, much better. There's a part where he marries this chick who insists that he has sex with her younger sister(?) on the night of their wedding. I'm not sure what's the deal with that, and he also gets to fuck the younger sister a couple of years later when it seems that his wife is not in the mood one night.
At 1:30:40, Cristorio fucks the wife responsible for his son's death as revenge. It's forced, as he threatens her with a knife. I'm not sure if sex is what he really wants from her in the first place, though. Maybe he wants to kill her but the wife just offers herself instead so that he won't kill her.
