Revenge comes in a new form in this movie about a very unique room.
Ji-hye wakes up in an empty room in the mountains and finds out that she has been kidnapped and imprisoned. A man's voice can be heard through a speaker. The man promises to release her in a week if she follows his instructions. He forces her to get naked and masturbate. When she falls asleep and wakes up again, she sees Seung-cheol, lying beside her, also kidnapped like her. The man demands that they have sex if they want to get out of there and threatens to release their sex videos...
Cheating Notes
Not 100% sure what's going on in the movie and if the scenes are linear, but here goes.
The first couple (Ji-hye and Seung-cheol) gets kidnapped and finds themselves in an empty room. A man talking through a speaker forces them to fuck. Then the man lets them go.
The first couple meets with the second couple (In-ae and her boyfriend) for some coffee in front of one of their houses. Then, we see a private talk between Seung-cheol and In-ae. From the looks of it, it seems that they had an affair, with In-ae acting as the slutty one who wants more and Seung-cheol as the regretful one who doesn't want to continue their affair anymore.
After sex, In-ae's boyfriend checks her phone out for incriminating texts while she's sleeping. He sees a text conversation between her and Seung-cheol and shows it to Ji-hye sometime later. Ji-hye thinks that he's overreacting and needs more proof. So In-ae's boyfriend searches In-ae's purse and finds an SD card. He and Ji-hye watch the video on the SD card: it's a sex video of Seung-cheol and In-ae in the same empty room where Seung-cheol and Ji-hye were forced to fuck earlier. Then, we get a full scene of Seung-heol and In-ae also being forced to fuck by the man in the speaker in the dark room.
Because Ji-hye saw evidence of her boyfriend cheating on her, she is now ready to fuck In-ae's boyfriend for revenge. And so, she has sex with him at the end of the movie.
So, could the man in the speaker be In-ae's boyfriend then? Because it's like Lenin said, you look for the person who will, uh, benefit, and uh, it seems that In-ae's boyfriend, in the end, is the one who benefits from it... not only does he get his revenge on his girlfriend, but he is also able to bed the other guy's girlfriend... you know what I'm trying to say?
